Children of God’s Kingdom

Orphanage in Vanchunancherry
Children of God’s Kingdom is a ministry started 2001 by two people, Mary, Gerard’s mother and Rocco Riccio. They both had a desire for many years to serve God in India before they started this ministry in 2001.

As God spoke to them, in the year 2001 they started building an orphanage in in Vanchuvancherry about 36 kms from Chennai. The orphanage was completed it in August 2002, dedicated to God and started with 17 children.

In 2009 they moved the orphanage to a village called Nindra in Andhra Pradesh where they now have about 17 children who they look after and care for their every need.

Kattampoor Tution Centre Children and Teachers
The tuition centre caters for the village children’s education needs after school. As most of the children’s parents do menial laboring jobs with no education themselves, they are not able to help their children. The teachers at the tuition centre pray, sing some songs, read bible verses and then help the village children with their homework and other subjects as needed.

Just some of the other things that Mary and Rocco do to serve God and the poor:

  • Planted two churches – one in Nindra and the other in nearby village called Kachervadu and also support another church in Tiruttani.
  • Travel to five nearby villages twice a week taking food for the poor children who only have one meal at night.
  • Run a gypsy ministry in Tiruttani – singing and praying with them and telling them about God.
  • Spend much of their time visiting people, praying for them, preaching at churches. Many have been healed and delivered through their prayers.
Sydney Music School Toongabbie are delighted to be able to support Mary and Rocco in a small way in all they do.
